Easter Best

Easter Best

I just realized that the last three posts show photos of Sam asleep. Well, here he is awake and alert on Easter. We went to Sam's grandparents' house on Cape Cod and had a lovely weekend.

Matt and I also celebrated our 2-year wedding anniversary. It's actually today, but on Saturday, his parents babysat while we went out for a nice dinner.

The weather was beautiful on Sunday and Matt and I played wiffle ball and kicked the socker ball around in the yard while Sam went for a walk with his grandfather. It was fun to be active and care free, if only for a little while.

The next day (Monday), while in the shower, I realized to my horror that I had a tick embedded in my leg, just under my knee. Matt had to pull it out with tweasers while I sat dripping from the shower on the toilet. I don't know which is worse - realizing that the piece of lint on my leg won't wash off and has wiggly legs, or the fact that the thing was on/in me for 24 hours and I slept with it and didn't even know it.

Now, I have to look out for ring bruises and flu-like symptoms. Beware if you're outside. I was only sitting in the grass for 10 minutes and I was wearing shoes, socks, jeans, and long sleeves.

Anyway, isn't Sam cute in his "big boy" clothes?

This is how we put Sam to sleep -- swaddled in his Miracle Blanket.

It cracks me up. He looks so funny, almost like a glow worm.

4 Months Old!

I'm so excited, I could sleep!

I turned 4 months old yesterday. This picture was taken about a week ago, but I look pretty much the same.

What am I up to these days?

I no longer despise tummy time. I can tollerate it for a good five minutes now and I can even lift up my head and look around and smile! Mom's got to get a picture of that soon.

I squeal with delight when someone sings "Itsy Bitsy Spider" to me and I make a lot of cooing sounds like "ahhh ahhh ahhh."

I like to pretend to hold my bottle when Dad is feeding me, but he won't risk letting go of it yet. I'm just practicing, really.

I still like to suck on my hands, or anything within reach of my mouth. I wonder if I'll get a tooth soon...

Mom used to be able to talk on the phone, read the newspaper, or eat while nursing me, but now I find it very irritating when she does those things and I'm sure to let her know by stopping and looking at her several times until she puts whatever it is she is doing down. I get the feeling she's not thrilled about not being able to multitask, but hey, I'm the most important thing in the world!

I've been going for walks with my Dad during the day. I'm carried in the Baby Bjorn, facing out so I can look around, but I usually fall asleep.

I started taking baths in the bath tub (still in my baby tub) instead of on the kitchen table. I think it's harder on my parents' backs, but I feel much more civilized and less exposed in the bathroom. The big furry orange creature likes to hang out on the edge of the tub and check me out. This morning, in fact, it was found sleeping on my changing table! The nerve!

See you next month!

Birthday

I turned 32 this past Sunday. The boys and I took a drive to Marblehead and had a picnic lunch on the dock. It was a beautiful day - the first time it hadn't rained on my birthday in years!

Sam did really well, too. He didn't cry once the whole time we were out. He seemed to enjoy the fresh air and new sights.

Year #31 was an eventful year and so far it doesn't seem like life is going to let up much for year #32!

Stay tuned... (no I'm not pregnant again!)
