We took Sam to a children's museum this weekend. We all deserved some fun after the horrible week we had.

Last Saturday, Sam was diagnosed with a double ear infection. Then, on Monday, all three of us came down with the dreaded stomach bug. During this time, we all had been battling a severe cold. (I still can't hear out of my left ear!) Then, on Wednesday, Sam became so dehydrated from the stomach bug, we had to take him to the emergency room to get IV fluids.

To tally things up, Sam went to the doctor's office 3 times in one week, not including the hospital visit. I missed 3 days of work due to my illnesses and then part of Monday this week for jury duty. Sam missed pretty much 5 days of daycare, except for a couple hours on Monday and a couple hours on Friday. Both days, he was sent home sick. Of course, we still had to pay for a full week. That's just how it is.

So, you can see why we wanted to do something fun.

This week, so far, things have been much better. We're all on the mend and Sam is making up for not eating last week. He's become a bottomless pit! He did lose a couple of pounds though, so it makes sense.

So much for a happy, healthy 2007!
